The Poop Deck is a Grade II Listed Cottage in the heart of the riverside town of Upton upon Severn. Providing happy holidays since 2008, our ethic is to help you relax and unwind - play chess, checkers or a variety number of board games in front of the wood burner; soak up the sun  and watch the wildlife in our lovely courtyard garden; walk a mere couple of minutes to any number of pubs, cafe's, tea rooms and restaurants; hire a boat or do a spot of fishing on the mighty River Severn. It's all within walking distance and here for you to enjoy!

OUR ROOMS

The cottage is spread over three levels, and incorporates a fully equiped kitchen/diner; seperate dining room with wood burner; first floor sitting room; a superking sized master bedroom (which can be converted to 2 single beds on request); further double bedroom; childrens room with 3ft single beds; landing study; a peacesful courtyard garden; a carport for 1 compact vehicle and further parking space. The cottage ideally sleeps 6, but can accomodate 7 on request.

The Poop Deck

The Poop Deck is the area on a ships' deck reserved exclusively for Officers use. Whilst our cottage is not a ship, it is believed to be constructed using beams from various vessels who plied their trade up and down the Severn during the17 & 18c - hence,

Technology

You will find free WIFI is accessible thorughout the property, and there is bluetooth radio, large screen TV, along with old fashioned DVD's and CD's to help wile away the time.

Upton upon Severn

Upton upon Severn is a charming town on the banks of the river Severn, whose origins date back to the Domesday Book. A long standing trading post, its location between the Cotswold and the Malverns provides countless opportunites for walking, fishing, exploring - or just watching the river drift by..

In the House

We provide a well stocked larder of salt/pepper, oils and vinegars, tea and coffee etc, so you won't have to bring the kitchen sink! We use eco friendly products, and there is a BBQ for outdoor cooking - weather permitting!

Children and Animals

We adore children and animals, and they will be most welcome at The Poop Deck. We can provide stair gates and cots for younger children, and there are wonderful doggie walks along the Severn Way, a mere few steps from the cottage.

Garden and Parking

The courtyard garden is charming, and a real suntrap! There are 2 sets of tables and chairs, and relaxing benches in a tucked away leafy corner just right for a night cap. The carport is for a  compact car only, although there is a further parking space less than a minutes walk away.

Festivals

Upton upon Severn plays host to a number of festival throughout the season: The Folk Festival, Jazz Festival, Blues and Sunshine Festivals, as well as various other weekend events. Check the Upton upon Severn website for details and dates!

Walking and Cycling

The Poop Deck is in easy reach of both the Malverns and the Cotswolds - ideal for walking and cycling holidays.It also lies directly on the Severn Way, which follows the mighty River Severn for glorious miles of undistrubed riverside meandering.

Malvern

Just a few miles away, Great Malvern has fabulous shoping, restaurants and theatre complex which boast marvellous opportunies to fulfill your cultural needs without going to the West End, whilst the Three Counties Showground is the home of various events throughout the year.

Cheltenham

We are only a short drive to Cheltenham, the beautiful Gloucestershire Spa Town hosting numerous events throughout the season, including Science, Music and Literature Festivals, as well as the world famous

Cheltenham Racecourse overlooking the fabulous Cotswold escarpment.

On the River

There are plenty of things to see and do on the Severn, from boat trips on the Conway Castle to Tewkesbury, to hiring pleasure boats for your own bespoke day out. Fishing licences are available locally too, or you could just watch the wildlife from one of the numerous public footpaths along the river front.

Centrally located and with easy access to so much, Broadway and the Cotswolds are on your doorstep, as well as Gloucester Docks, numerous Golf Clubs, the Morgan Car Factory, swimming pools, tennis - or you can relax in one of the variety of pubs, restaurants and tea rooms right on your doorstep in Upton itself - the choice is yours!
